Transformative Philanthropy

A $20 million success story

Opportunity International is lighting the way out of poverty, one family and one community at a time. By providing small loans to women in need, they empower them to build their own businesses, generate sustainable incomes, and create a brighter future for generations to come.

By leveraging emotive storytelling and strategic communication, Opportunity International connected with their audience on a deeper level, fostering a sense of shared purpose and commitment.

I partnered with Opportunity International to create a short film that would capture the essence of Lalithama’s story in India. Stricken by polio and trapped in poverty, Lalithama reclaimed her life with a loan from Opportunity International. She was able to support her family, educate her children, and cover medical expenses. Today, she thrives and is flourishing in her new-found independence, having repaid the loan in full.

The film was showcased at a high-profile charity fund-raiser, where its emotional impact was undeniable. The audience was moved to action, culminating in an anonymous donor pledging $4 million annually for the next five years. This incredible generosity significantly propelled Opportunity International’s reach, enabling them to extend their life-changing programs far beyond their initial scope.

By leveraging emotive storytelling and strategic communication, I helped Opportunity International to connect with their audience on a deeper level, fostering a sense of shared purpose and commitment. They not only raised substantial funds but also solidified their reputation as a leader in global poverty alleviation with the ability to create lasting, positive change. This partnership exemplifies how impactful narratives can drive meaningful action and support for critical causes. The faces of Lalithama and her daughter say it all!
